“An excellent match between two equally matched teams with very different styles. The clans played a fluid running game, moving the ball down the sides and throwing a lot, while Kazraks pushed up the middle. with classic 'cage' tactics, throwing or handing off occasionally. Notable plays included Team Captain Gordreg making an amazing interception at the halfway and an excellent throwing score from the skaven
Both tactics produced a score each in both halves.
At half time, the teams were even with a beastman badly hurt after being tripped by a Gutter Runner and another sent off for trying to kick a Rat while he was down. Two Linerats were badly injured during the drive.
The score was tied at half time and the Clans scored in turn four of the second half. But Skaven casualties were mounting too and a third linerat going down to a crunching tackle from a beastman meant that the skaven were unable to mount a coherent defence but moved receivers into clear space in case of a loose ball. Chaos drove up the middle to level the score, a lone gutter runner unable to stop three beastmen. A deep defence and lack of one turn scorers kept the Skaven out for their last turn to end the game in a draw.
A big gate let Kazraks finally sign a promising young ogre they've had their eyes on for a while. Grimjaw Bonesnapper will hopefully provide much needed backup for Gordreg at the Scrimmage Line, freeing up beastmen to concentrate on their running and passing game.
Great game Cortex! Thanks a lot. See you on the pitch... ”
