“Monday night blood bowl started with a bang and ended with little more than a wimper and mutterings of what might have been.

Annoyed Much won the toss and elected to receive, but the opening kick resulted in a blitz that saw the chaos team crowd the line of scrimmage and ko a hob gob. Luck quickly went to the Chaos Dwarfs however when a failed block by the Chaos team allowed the bull centaur crusher to get the ball and break for the end zone putting much distance between himself and the chaos team, quickly scoring on the subsequent turn.

Re-start and everything appears subdued. The Chaos Dwarf team managed to hold the ball up at the half way line, until it popped out and in two turns Abbaddon the Despoiler on 2 GFI's managed to score, with no one near. Gummy Joe the troll tried to put up some defense but tripped over his own feet trying to blitz Abbaddon.

Turn 8 for the chaos dwarfs and nothing happened however a spark within the chaos team saw Rawhide the minotaur put the hurt on Gummy Joe, the coach feeling brave sent the doc out to revive him, no sooner however that Horney the beastman fouled Frank Grimes.... sending Frank Grimes out of the game and Horney being caught by the ref was sent to cool his heels for the rest of the contest.

2nd half and an angry Chaos Dwarf fan chucked a rock and nobbled Khan the destroyer stunning him. The second half was uneventful, the ball being stuck in a melee in the middle of the field for much of the half. Rawhide went for an ill-advised foul and the ref caught him and sent him to the showers. Somehow during the melee , Zutroy got the ball and made slow progress to the endzone, in his excitment however and a step away from a score he went for it and tripped up. Crusher attempted to pick the ball up and score only for it to bounce through his hooves and thus the game ended. It was a hard fought game, and the chaos dwarfs are happy that they are going into the second round with a full squad.
