“The game started with some good banter between the coaches and I knew this would be fun regardless of the result. Before the zons could even start a fan-thrown rock badly hurt one of their blitzers - result! However karma paid them back when their first blitz killed a skink! On my first turn I broke through and snagged the ball while thoroughly surrounding the area with lizards- looked pretty safe until a zon blitzer waltzed through the tackle zones and took out the ball carrier with ease. Managed to temporarily dislodge the ball but immediatly afterwards an extremely long throw by the zon star thrower put the ball safely at the other end of the pitch - even giving the girls enough time to gang-foul my only tackler before running in the TD. Ouch!

Then it was a big mess with my turn on the ball with the zons looking like they were going to score again - luckily some both-down action on the throwers blitz meant they couldn't do it.. but my skinks could! And with some sweet elfball they moved the ball right up the other end and scored - completing the teams first every pass on the way!

1-1 for the 2nd half and the lizards started well with blocks evening numbers slightly. It looked fairly certain to be a lizard TD but a simple missed dodge and then some good play by zons changed everything. despite brave attempts by kroxi - the zons score and i'm losing with 4 turns to go.

What happened next was a massive brawl with the ball bouncing off almost everyone's head but we finally manage to snag the ball and run over to one side and cage near the sideline. Brave blitzing by the zons not enough to dislodge the ball and in fact leads to a blitzer getting surfed into the crowd for a broken neck! (nice work ankhy) Unfortunately the ball carrying skink wasn't able to complete the single dodge needed to equalise the game.. boooo!
