“Not a lot went right for the Lightnings this game - the first drive resulted in a fluffed pickup, which left the Lightnings on the back foot for the rest of the half. They eventually broke through the MtG deck's defence to score late on by taking the ball from one end to the other in 2 turns. With 2 turns left on the clock, the Belchers fumbled their ball pickup, but the Lightnings also failed to collect the loose ball, and so couldn't take advantage.
In the second half, the Belchers got the ball deep into the Lightning's half, and were promptly mobbed, but the Blitzer in possession proved adept at staying on his feet, and so the Belchers were able to touch the ball down soon after.
The Belchers then kicked and pulled off a spectacular blitz, leaving the Lightnings' front line in tatters. The Lightnings' Gutter Runners were able to escape with the ball, but a Blitzer caught the ball carrier and stopped the attack. A confused final few turns came to nothing, and both sides had to accept a 1-1 draw.”
