“The Banes kicked off and laid into the Dragons' front line with enthusiasm, but they had been incautious by bunching so tight, as a wizard, hired by the Dragons, launched a devastating attack into the centre of the formation, knocking out one the the Banes' mummies and knocking another two to the floor, along with several other players. A sneaky foul removed another mummy, and the situation looked dire for the Banes, despite them being in possession of the ball.
A gigantic brawl erupted in the centre of the pitch, as the surrounded Banes desperately defended their position from incessant attacks. Some fortunate blocks allowed them to regain some amount of control over the situation, but that was lost once Jack Burton, the Dragons' kroxigor, got his claws into the Banes' ball carrier. The ball was quickly seized by the Dragons, and with only 5 players still on the pitch, the Banes were in deep trouble. The Dragons could have simply touched the ball down, but instead opted to run the clock down to inflict further damage on the Banes, and this was their undoing. The Dragons were turned over by an unlucky failed dodge and Psammetichus the Mummy took the opportunity to smash Eddie Lee to the ground, leaving the ball loose. The Dragons couldn't collect it before the half ran out, and so the scores remained at 0-0.
After half time, the Banes kicked off. The Dragons launched a quick assault down the right flank, but had missed the fact that Egg Shen, a Skink, was still fumbling around, trying to pick up the ball. The Banes' blitzers advanced as the Skink fumbled around, trying to collect, and Shen was so distracted that they were upon him as he picked up the ball. He tried to dodge away, but tripped and hit his head, and from there the Banes were able to complete a simple touchdown as the larger Lizardmen wandered around the Banes' end, wondering what had happened to their little friends.
“:> After an early apoth it was a disaster waiting to happen. Fortunatly we got out of it with some SPP and a bit of comedy in what was a fun game. Look foreward to the next match if only for the match report.”
