“A solid performance from the Lightnings. An opening blitz from the Rabid Rats was repelled and the Lightnings scored turn 2, but the Rats responded with a Quick Snap into a one-turn touchdown by a Rats Gunner Runner. Next, another blitz from the Rats, another touchdown for the Lightnings. The Rats, however, broke the pattern by failing their one-turn touchdown attempt, Splat tripping over his own feet within sight of the endzone.
At the start of the second half, the Rats attempted a long pass into the Lightnings' half, and while it was completed, the end result wasn't there as the Gutter Runner who caught it was quickly dispossed by the Lightnings. From there, the Lightnings were able to quickly ferry the ball up the pitch for a touchdown. The Rats reply came in the form of another passing play, this time with a Stormvermin as the target. That one worked out, leaving the score at 3-2.
The final touchdown of the game came when the Lightnings finally managed to receive a kick without getting blitzed. They simply overwhelmed one flank of the Rats and scored at leasure. There was time for a little more play, but nothing of any particular note happened and so the Lighnings came home with a strong victory. Sadly, their run of bad injury luck continued, as this time time took its toll, with Hamnpork picking up a niggling injury. Team rules mean that such players must be retired, and so funds will have to be found for a replacement Stormvermin from Skavenblight.”
