After a tough season so far Real were finally due what they hoped was a respite to the pounding they had received all season long as they travelled to Celtic to face relegation rivals, Celtic BBC.

Although a softer game, this was perhaps to be one of the most important, a loss here would mean relegation for sure… fortunately the Chaos Dwarfs season had been just as bad as Real’s so far and they turned up with just 10 men, albeit two Bulls that could carry any team.

Celtic had planned to even the odds quick by cornering the Ref before the game and ensuring he turned a blind eye all first half – so the tone was immediately set for a bloody outcome.

Real received first and stacked the LOS, hoping to further increase their numerical advantage.

Mikel González showed he’d turned up for business by RIPing Celtic’s Troll on his first block – who promptly regenerated much to Celtics relief.

The dwarves were either knocked to the floor or tied up as Diaz concentrated on taking the ball to the flank.

All but the awesome Bull Centaurs, who refused to be herded, were kept under control, but team captain, Gerardo Garcia aided by a couple of Ghouls attempted to get them in line… failing however and leaving himself and the Ghouls in a precarious position.

Celtics Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink turned on the speed and ran almost a full width to sack the blodging Diaz and caused a spill. Real’s other Ghouls didn’t fair so well either and were knocked to the floor, and even Gerardo was fatally injured only to fortunately regenerate.

Seeing his team struggling, and an opportunity to lay on the hurt Juanito rushed in to lay the boot to a Bull Centaur that had finally succumbed to Mikel’s blows – seriously injuring him to which the Doctor had no cure. Sent off… Juanito left with a grin, knowing he’d earned his fee today.

Despite this, it was not enough as Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink scooped up the ball, dodged away and raced to the end zone beyond the reach of even Real’s Ghouls.

0 - 1

In the second half Real were confident that with the injuries Celtic had suffered that there was still a good opportunity to win the game – Celtic obviously felt the same way however and made a determined drive up the flank.

Hot off the bench after his near death experience Gerardo sent a Hobo and a Chaos Dwarf to the local infirmary whilst the Ghouls tied up Celtics remain Bull Centaur. Lacking the support of any tacklers the Bull Centaur failed to get away from the Ghouls.

Diaz was not about to be denied a second time and quickly scooped the ball up and headed for the end zone.

Celtic proved to be insolent and started to throw blocks on the Ghouls with his lone Dwarves!

The game was quickly tied with Real leaving time for a second.

1 - 1

The Dwarves were to drive and had also set out the stock for a win, with Real setting up close to the half way line, the opportunity for the game to swing either way was certainly there.

Unfortunately, Celtic seemed to lose their heads and chose to foul a zombie before securing the ball… although the foul caused a BH the no longer intimidated Ref spotted it and evicted the offender.

Real dove in, sending the Ghouls wide around the flanks. Celtic broke their Bull free of the scrimmage, but still had a lot to do and even after the pickup were left with a very long throw to make.

A fumble!

The Ghouls pounced and took the ball and the embarrassed Hobo tried to regain face and sack the ball carrier, only to achieve putting himself to the floor allowing Real to walk the ball home for their second win of the Season!

2 – 1

Still far out of the danger area, Real travel to Sylvannia next to face an undead team at the opposite end of the table.

=====
This was an important game in avoiding relegation for us, and fortunately nothing went too wrong. Jock’s boys, despite being matched in TR/TS, were always going to struggle with ten men… however, as usual, I underestimated his tackle-less star Centaurs who made me pay the price in the first half.

I figured I could make it up in the second half, but Jock didn’t rest on his laurels and fortunately for me couldn’t dodge his BC away from my Ghouls to take the game.

A failed pass could have given him the tie at the end, but the -2 throw with RR couldn’t manage anything above a fumble.

Bottom line, ultimately the 10 men CD team couldn’t hold the Zombie Horde.

GG Jock – hope your team turns around for next season.
