#5 Ek – Broken Ribs (MNG)
Sure was a exciting match that turned out better than I hoped for, in number of cases at least.

I went out hard and got the starplayer Jordell and a wizard for this match since the next match in the qualifier seemed easier.

The first two turns was a text book wood elf attack. Ball in the back and a few ball recivers in the front, with my ma9 thrower most passes becomes short and despite the dubble skulls on blocks to free the scorer it all sorted out.

The 6 turns defence was worse, keept most of my players on the field even with the dark elfs MBs and DP, BH on Jordell early and alot of stunns and at the end when they finally made a move over the middle line I only had 5-6 players to move and even if I got 3 zones on the ball that i blitzed out of the hands from the ball carrier they managed to get it free and run in a 1-1

Second half started as a dream. Blitz. Moved all my team down to the landing spot and got it on my st4 dancer. Safe. Or not, a few dodges and a reroll later the ball was on the lose again, but no worries, was one dodge to get a catcher on the goal line, and one pick up to get the ball on my 9367 lineman, short pass, BAAM, interception....doh...back to hunting cages.
Got abit stressed and used the wizard in a rather bad situation, didnt help anything, made some bad moves and the tree rolled tripple skull\ skull/pow with pro failing, and when i got my last chance to get the ball it all cleared up again.
1D blitz on the ball carrier with stripball, push, the ball ends up in 3 zones, easy with a 9367 elf, right, picked it up and got greedy, tried to pass in 3 zones, 4+ with RR, would have been a easy dodge even if the witch had DT but my dancer was in a bad surfspot that I wasnt to keen on giving that up for free. Fumbles the pass, the darkies picks it up and does a quick pass to score.

Last turn, oneturn, all or nothing, quick snap, push, push, pow, pick up, pass, catch, running......dodge, dodge, RR, dodge, gfi, gfi to score, falls, KILLED....doh, apo puts on a first aid kit and the match is over.

Was great fun, well played Optihut and best of luck in your next matches!

Very exciting warpstone open III qualifier match: The woodelves won the cointoss and decided to let the darkies kick. This was in my favour, as I had intended to kick and go for a 2-1 stalling win anyway.

As expected, the woodelves managed to score in round 2, despite a perfect defense in the darkelves' favour.

After that, they almost managed to stop the darkelves offense, but with a few lucky rolls, the score was 1-1 at the end of the half.

In the second half, the woodelves got a blitz and managed to secure the ball. The ST 4 wardancer was fairly thoroughly shielded, but with a couple of gfis the darkelves managed to get a 2 dice blitz and knock down the wardancer with a reroll. The throw in was beneficial for the darkelves as well, although it took another round to get the ball back.

The half consisted of a lot of caging and positioning until the ball was finally safely in the woodelves endzone.

On the last kickoff, the darkelves tried to stop the woodelves one turn attempt and set up side steppers on the LOS. However, due to a critical mistake (the darkelves forgot to leave an empty square next to each sidestepper), the woodelves were able to chainpush their 9 3 6 7 lineman 3 squares forward! Fortunately that elf tripped on the gfi into the endzone and thus the game ended 2-1.

Well played, Pim; it was very exciting right to the very end.
