“Overtime and lots of reloads made this the longest lasting match I've ever played on here. Despite that, it still was entertaining the entire way. Solid ball control from both sides, and a couple of turning points in the match.
On the chaos first half drive, turn 7 the wizard took down the CW ball carrier and with my ag5 catcher in range. Needed a 2+ 3+ 2+ (with a reroll), then a 3+ (with catch reroll) and avoiding a 6+ intercept roll to turn and score in the other direction. Unfortunately, wasn't able to do the 2+ 3+ 2+ part, and the chaos scored on a 4+ roll (with reroll).
In the pro elf second half drive, midway through the chaos had a free 2d blitz on the ball carrier. However, due to our reloads for whatever reason the client wouldnt let him blitz. I've never seen this before. We agreed that I wouldn't blitz my next turn in exchange, but that wasn't really enough to make a difference. Things could have changed dramatically if he got the blitz on the ball and a favorable bounce. As it was, the pro elves were able to escape the pressure and score easily.
Chaos had a 2-turn drive to score which they had a fair chance of pulling off, but they snaked a gfi and knocked out a warrior.
Overtime was chaos receiving, but with only 2 RR to the elves 7. However, the elves armor started breaking a bit more quickly, and the defense needed to start making desperate plays. Did manage to spring the ball loose (another beast caught the scatter) and have a few more solid blocks on the ball throughout. In the end, though, the chaos were able to plow through for the score. ”
