“WO qualifier 1st game. My first game in a major ever!
A close matchup with no handicaps.

The Keen Edge dark elves started with speed looking for a fast touchdown, streaming up both sides with a side-step witch elf holding the ball near my TD line by the end of the turn. I blitz a way through to her and mark her with a kroxi while tagging every available elf with a saurus. It's not enough as she easily dodges past the tail, blitzes the skink out of the way and runs in the first TD of the day!

A nice kick directly to corner by half line starts things off again but i'm able to secure with a skink safely. Or so I thought as Keen Edge star blitzer LEAPS over my kroxi to blitz him! Must take this star out of the game!! Fortunately the dark elves are unable to secure the loose ball and I grab it, tag a few elves with saurus and then run Gecko (str 3 skink) towards the end zone! Ankhy cleverly sidesteps as he falls down to prevent any chance of a dark elf being able to blitz through and Gecko runs in the equaliser on turn 4.

Uh oh- keen edge fans get the ref! Dark elves start normally with blitzers and witches rushing up the sidelines but they forget the ball! By the end of the turn it's not picked up and fairly loosely covered so i'm able to run in lizards and cover it, then a daring sprint and pickup by kaimazda gets it in my hands - he's immediately seriously injured by a lineman!! The dark elves attempt to get it back upfield but kroxi's tail stops a dodge towards the ball and i'm able to rush in a skink to grab the ball- surrounded by lizards now and he runs in the 2-1 TD!

Only a single turn left til half time which the elves pass by jumping up and down on mighty Tlaxrox, sending him to the KO box for the rest of the match.

Dark Elves start the 2nd half with a blitz! Uh oh! Blitzer leaps through to the position his kick is going to land but a witch elf seriously injures herself trying to follow! I'm unable to knock down the blitzer on my turn so do my best by tagging him with the kroxi- can he do it? Easily- leaps right over a skink and out of kroxi tail range to amble in the 2-2 TD.

We restart with some slightly dodgy lizard-caging action but more leaping gets the ball loose! This Frog-Elf must be removed!! The next turn everyone piles in and a foul takes him out (though only to the KO box). The ball is not very safe at all in a rookie skinks hands however and the dark elves soon break it free. Luckily we're able to take out the witch elf and charge in some cold blooded bodies to cover. Eventually I'm able to break through and pick up with Gecko, then run him right into the corner for a 1turn stall so the elves won't have 2 turns to equalise. A brave witch elf manages to dodge through to him but fails the 2d against block and it's 3-2 for the lizards!

A great, fun game with plenty of casualties and touchdowns by both teams. Thanks AJAC!

Of note: managed to push 3 elves into the crowd during the match, but unfortunately all into the elvish girl guide section without a single injury!”
