I can't fault my opponent's tactics, which were solid and clearly very well rehearsed. He did everything right, and was only let down by some poor dice rolls along the way. My defence was like swiss cheese as his team surged through, making a mockery of my tackle zones with their nimble dodging and excellent positioning.

Some awful rolling on my side resulted in situations like my Witch Elf knocking herself out twice, my thrower failing to pass to the player one square away on one occasion, and knocking himself out while picking up the ball (I can't even begin to work out how he managed that) on another. Despite having the superior armour, my blocking was ineffective, and far more of my players went down than those on the other side. I suspect my player positions might be too bunched up and not conducive to good assists.

Still, a very fun game, partly because so much went wrong, but also because my opponent was a skilled veteran who knew exactly what he was doing. I learned a lot from this game, and I only hope I can apply it to future matches.”
