#6 Donald Koch – Smashed Knee (NI)
This was quite a defensive struggle. The game started in an odd fashion with Union Jack choosing to save a reroll on a failed block. Choosing to end the first turn saved the reroll for later, but left them unorganized. Centurian was able to put pressure Union Jack. The focus of Union Jack shifted from wanting to score to preventing the counter score. The tricky coach was able to do both by causing a key injury to Donald Koch. After the APO failed in his duties, Union Jack was able to scoop up the ball and threaten a score. Late in the first half, a fantastic personal effort by Sturm Wardrum prevented a sure score. Blessed with quick feet, he blitzed across the field a full eight paces never coming to close to losing his footing in the raging blizzard. He hit the Jack runner near the sidelines. They struggled for dominance, but then as if Sturm got a second chance, he heroically forced the ball carrier into the crowd where he was promptly beaten to a pulp. The half ended with some desperation attempts from both sides a zero zero tie.

The second half was vintage dwarf bloodbowl. Centurian took the kick, caged up and marched. Even though they were short handed, they were able to squeeze Ale Collins through a whole in the line. With pressure building behind him, he stepped gingerly across the goal line to score. With little time remaining, the only hope for a tie was a clock adjustment for injury time. As Centurian lined up to kick, the referee was making his way to scoring table. Fearful that he was going to add injury time, the Centurian fans stormed the field and violated the referee. One of the fans stripped the striped uniform from his mangled body and took up a place on the field as the new referee. He winked to coach Jose Bagg, "foul as much as you want, I won't see a thing", he said. Coach Bagg would have been overjoyed for such an opportunity early in the game, but with the victory assured, he chose not to treat his noble opponent to egregious fouls.

If not for the failed APO, this would have a perfect result. Here is hoping that I get the goblins next round.
