“The match opened with the Ravagers kicking, and 2 Fast 2 Fur(y) (2F2F) were quick to make their mark on the scoreboard, as they scored a spectacular 1-turn TD from Steven, despite a blitz from the Ravagers. The Infernos responded in grinding fashion, despite some poor early skill that required all their training to mitigate - they spent the entire half grinding their way up the pitch to level the score while the 2F2F fans (and coach) booed and jeered, trying to goad the Infernos into a more spectacular style of play. The Ravagers, however refused to be drawn into giving 2F2F an opening to exploit.

The second half opened similarly, with the Ravagers in possession and working their way slowly up the pitch. This time, though, they gave in to the various appeals from 2F2F, and scored with just under 50% of the half remaining. Unfortunately they paid for that lapse, as it enabled 2F2F to level the score - tthe Ravagers overcommitted to a blitz, but failed to gain possession and so left their defense in too weak a state. ”
