Galatic Finals!
The Ryoth Champions limped into the finals - still mourning the loss of Kit Fisto, the greatest of known jedi. Yoda was recruited to take his place...a little fella, but with some promising potential. Against the Ryoth Champions was a massive hardened battle droid army. The match was a mismatch on paper perhaps, but the Jedi had a plan to counter the evil sith lords.

To start the game, the jedi lost 1 player before the match due to a niggling injury, although sad, the apothecary was saved for injuries during the match. The opening kick was received by the jedi and the blocking scheme was unleashed. The key was to minimize the blocks against our clones by careful positioning and not following up. Several turns were all pushes, but Yoda commanded well on the field holding back the troopers from getting in too deep. However, the second attempted dodge of the game left a trooper with a niggling injury if not for the apothecary. However, eventually, the droids began to be carted off the field as the jedi took control on the scoreboard 1-0. In total, for the game, the jedi had a decided advantage in blocks thrown (71 to 47).

The second half, the sith had the ball, however, the jedi still were in a good position, with numbers on their side...then *blam*...the clone trooper with block skill tossed quad skulls as first action of the turn, and all the careful positioning fell apart. The droids raced around the flank towards the endzone and getting extra blocks resulted in CAS and KO and suddenly numbers heavily favored the droids and with them in control, they stalled looking to go into overtime tied at 1-1. However, the two young jedi dodged a little and slammed the ball carrier down - the ball flying out of his hands and into the crowd...the agile and quick jedi had hoped for this...but the ball landed next to two droids - the clone trooper moving in to try a difficult pickup, dodge and throw downfield for the win, failed his first dodge and the droids recovered the ball...badly hurt Aayla Secura and stalled for the 1-1 tie and overtime.

The Ryoth Champions were kicking off and 3 of the 4 driods woke from the KO box, so numbers now heavily favored the droids. However, the blocking and positioning was still in favor of the jedi until their guard clone trooper was seriously injuried - without the guard, the positioning became much harder. A double skulls ate up the last RR for the Ryoth Champions and a 2d blitz on the ball carrier was for nothing...with time winding down however, two more droids were removed from the pitch and numbers were now 1 more ryoth champion than droid on the field...General Grievous had been removed early in 1st half and now N-K Necrosis was badly hurt as well. Finally, the Ryoth Champions showed off their agility, two dodges allowed a 2d block on the ball carrier again...this time the ball was popped free and another dodge allowed Nin Ginto to grab the ball with a half screen of clones to protect him. Unable to get a blitz on the ballcarrier, the droids attempted to surround him. 2d blocks by Sarcha Lee (block skill) and Yoda, freed up a blitz to bust Nin Ginto free...and Nin raced close to the goal. With no RR, the droids decided to blitz to free themselves instead of dodging and blitzing the ballcarrier. Yoda knocked the droid marking him free and raced over to whisper some words of advice to Nin (and be close by incase the dodge failed)...but Nin rolled a 2 for the dodge...and walked in on the 7th turn of OT for the winning score.

A tough, well fought game with 10 CAS total...including a RIP on the most experienced battledroid (with repair tech failing). Lots of blood and a good time by all. Thanks!
