“The lizards of Slumbering Skink came into their first division one match concerned as to how they would fare with such a big step up in opponent quality. The entire match was played in wintery conditions with a blizzard storming across the field. Slumbering Skink adjusted to the conditions better than their opponents as they received the ball first and proceeded to slip down the side. As the orcish blitzers attempted to close in on the dashing skink they invariably tripped and rendered themselves unconscious. By the end of the first half 3 orcish blitzers had knocked themselves out and were joined in the recovery ward by an orcish thrower, as one skink was also carried off for a breather. The lizards held off on scoring until the end of the half, choosing to take advantage of their numerical superiority while they could and hopefully prevent the orcs from having an opportunity to counter.
At the half the orcs attempted to regroup but were continually thwarted by more unlucky rolls at crucial times, starting with a blitz against them. They managed to control the ball, but some excellent cover defence knocked over the runner and the lizards were able to recover the ball before racing over just in time to beat the clock for a 2-0 win.”
