“STUNTY!! Game 2
Our squig herders vs their nutter cousins the forest goblins!

They start with the ball but it's kicked deep so we can push through and put on the pressure. They dodge past us and throw towards the middle, then we miscount a block and fall over so they rush through with a single goblin. Fortunately we're able to knock him down and get the ball back, but it's not for long with a brawl by one sideline. Then 'Who?' engineers a brilliant move that sees him seriously injure one goblin with a block, causing a 2nd one to be thrown into the crowd who helpfully badly hurt him!!
We then manage to score on the last turn despite brave attempts from one of the shamans to get the ball away.

2nd half and the ref has spotted one of the stikka's weapons and sent him off- together with 3 forest gobbos sitting in the KO box that only leaves 5 of them to set up vs our full complement. We bring out the SQUIG!!

The forest gobbo fans are so incensed with a mere stake being sent off that they swarm the pitch and scrag the ref! In our first turn both squig hoppers cause a casualty leaving just 3 forest gobbos on the pitch- but those 3 still manage to foul and KILL one of our gobbos!

The fans are loving this! We eventually barge through and score without doing much real damage to the remaining forest goblins. 2-0!

4 line up for the final quarter - they are trying to cause some damage with the ref too scared to pick on them but they just do it. We try and score a third but ultimately drop the ball without RRs.

Cheers for the game, though the 2nd half was a bit difficult!”
