Apparently, Nuffle liked very much the idea of challenging dwarves with a dodge-heavy elf team.
The game started as was to be expected. Alfa kicked, dwarves received and secured the ball with their very elfish runners while hitting one Alfa player into the ko box. Nothing unusual there, but things changed very soon afterwards.
Maybe it was the loss of their badly hurt blitzer, Grunty, that got the dwarves so nervous. Grunty was trying to put pressure on Dust Storm who was standing on the edge of the pitch, but as it turns out, it was Grunty in the end going into the crowds and getting a beating from the fans.
After losing Grunty, Stubble was next to go by a block from Phileas Fog. With 9 players the dwarves were unable to protect the ball which was knocked free and left James Beacon running away from the dwarves to close first half 1-0 for team Alfa.
Start of the second half, Alfa scored a two-turner with Climate Change making it 2-0. After this, it was obvious the dwarf fans were not pleased and they invaded the pitch hitting dwarves and collecting autographs from the elfs who had an easy task to get to the ball again. 3-0. One similar goal more for the end result 4-0.
To sum all up into one sentence: Nuffle wanted the elves to win and so they did.”
