We start receiving and the chaos fans get the ref! They came for blood and we don't have any, we're just bones and wrapping paper- and they are MAD!
The chaos team plays very defensively to begin with, moving back and covering our way forward but not really getting stuck in like you normally find with half-beasts! We push up slowly, trying to maximise our mummy-power - the enemy is forced to use their apothecary on turn 3 to stitch up one beastman who was facing down a mummy. A clever dodge-n-blitz by a random beastman knocks down our thro-ra and he grabs the ball on the bounce but we take him down 2 turns later after surrounding him, and move upfield with the thro-ra once again holding onto the ball. The chaos are struggling to find a blitz against the ball and we eventually score without trouble on turn 6 (rather fast for us!!).
Usera Rules Reborn tries for a quick touchdown running down one side but are foiled by a slip up on a GFI that lets me cover the ball quite easily and the half ends 1-0.
Chaos receives deep and we start a bit of a punchup around the halfway line. I send a couple token skeletons down towards the ball and they move it up a bit and to one side. However it looks like we are really winning the block war here, especially with our two mummies with the block skill not eating up the rerolls. This forces Upi to bring out the heroes, and make some desperate but glorious moves- dodging away from the brawl with the ball and tossing it to the waiting chaos warrior partly away from the ruckus. Fortunately two of my puny skeletons somehow coordinate to knock him over! A rookie skeleton makes an unlikely (and accidental: thought that beastman was prone!) dodge + pickup and runs for the endzone to score on the last turn of the match!
Cheers for the game Upi & good luck in the future”
