“ It was a blistering day on the pitch as the Tounges took on the Delve Deep's. The heat took its toll on both team bringing the odds back in favor of the nimble elves. But on the first turn, several of the Deep's were carted off the field to the dugout for the rest of the match. Deep struck back though knocking out Fennex on their first turn. The next turn kept proving difficult for the Deep's as more of their men were paved over and taken away.
Out numbered and out gunned, the Deep's were unhindered, putting up a strong defence keeping the score to only 1 td. On an all out blitz through the middle late in the first half, the Deep's made a dramatic play slipping past defenders and squaring up next to the goal line. With only a turn left in the half, it was up to a lineman to blitz the ghoul Zipperhead and make their way in to score. The strike was on point, knocking the ghoul off the pitch but he left himself 2 steps shy of the goal line. The first step works, but the second results in a hair raising trip into stands, saving the Tounges from a score.
With a few more well placed KO's the Tounges started pulling away. Scoring another td, the Tounges kept pounding on the decreasing number of elves on the field. On the next turn, none of the elves who were knocked out made it back to the pitch, giving the Tounges an even larger advantage. They made quick work of the Deep's even though they penetrated deep into their territory. In the end it was another trip going for it that cost them a chance to score. With a slow and methodical attack, the Tounges found an openning and went untouched all the way back to the endzone.
Today, the score didn't reflect the tenacity of the Elven brood. But a win is a win..... ”
