“A tough, attritional, technical game between those old adverseries, Dwarfs and High Elves. The first half started well for the Corvettes when the kick went deep (the extra RR on the KO was welcome, but proved useless, as I will mention later).
With Elves swarming them deep in their own half, the Dwarfs struggled to make progress. They notched up 2 casualties and 2 KOs, but their Runner was forced to make a block, which he failed (rerolled), and was KO'd, as it turns out, for the rest of the game. The Elves were unable to fully capitalise, with Galathir Goldwing failing a rerolled dodge in a move that could well have ended in a touchdown. As it was, the Corvettes managed to harry the Dwarfs right until turn 8, were a failed hand-off denied them the score.
The second half featured some skirmishing offence from the High Elves, with Galathir Goldwing surviving a sequence of blocks which left Aerdan Dromondeer in light cover. The invitation was duly accepted.
By then, though, the Corvettes were too short-handed to defend the Dwarf response, and the game ended in a deserved tie.”
