“Attempt 2 for an ELF cycle with a brand new pro elf team! Once again we take on goblins for our opening game, but this time we've bought an apothecary!

We start things off with a typically elfy move sprinting through, passing it upfield and ending with the ball deep behind the gobbos lines. The goblins swarm back, ignoring our tackle zones and gang-blocking the hapless lineman with the ball, and surrounding where it drops. It's not enough to stop us though and with a series of 3+ dodges and pickups a lineman is through to score on the 2nd turn!

The goblins then start a decent attack, but my blitzes vs their ball carrier are continually succesful and it looks like I'm going to keep them from scoring. Then when our only blitzer grabs the ball and the goblin-gang fail to take him down with 4dice he blitzes away towards the endzone to get us a 2nd touchdown in our final turn of the half! The goblins go for a TTM touchdown attempt in their final turn but troll stupidity means the pass attempt is wasted!

With 2 sleepy elves in the KO box we set up 8 vs 11 gobbos. We defend rather bravely, putting in the hits where we need them and (by necessity) putting a lot of lineelves by the rather punchy trolls. However all our injuries sustained are KOs (3 of em, now 5 in the box) vs 2 more BH gobbos. It's not enough however and the goblins score a nice touchdown on their 6th turn. In our final few turns we go for some slightly risky plays with our few elves, inviting a troll blitz on the ball carrier (pushback) and then passing and rushing our way up one side. However a great goblin -2d blitz knocks over the ball carrier and the crowd hurl the ball right up to the middle again where it's covered by 2 gobbos. The elves go for glory with a pickup and pass from a tackle zone to our lone receiver who GFI's twice to score and make it 3-1!

A great first game for the elves with 3 skillups (one age niggles) and somehow 100k winnings- though as Ludovicious said the luck will probably be paid back with interest in their next game!!
