“A great game and decent performance overall by both teams. For my team, the offense did not come together quite as much as it potentially could have, and the defense, while good on coverage, did not maybe hit as hard as it could have. There are, however, some pretty good moments throughout the replay.
The first accomplishment was that even with the four badly hurts that no gobbos died in the making of this game. Hallelujah!
The gobbos attempted to establish a good pocket with which to move the ball forward, and while establishing the pocket was successful, keeping it together was not so easy and, in the end, did not work in helping to march the ball down field. A majority of the time the number of bodies surrounding the ball carrier were too many and too tightly packed, making it easy for the defense to control the movement of the ball through pushbacks.
The orc line was virtually impenetrable, with solid blocking by the black orcs; it didn't help that one troll was out a good portion of the first half and the other spent a lot of the time sucking dirt during the first half also.
Keeping the score against us down to two was a pretty good feat, in my opinion. Positioning of defenders in an attempt to stop the orc blitzer Fleck Threefeeted was as good as could be made and, still, luck had it, and he made it through even with being forced to make three dodge rolls.
The only scoring drive made by the Grist was about as haphazard as anyone would expect from a team of gobbos. A fumbled pass by one goblin to the other goblin on the Cracked Skullz team resulted in enough of an opening to where a small group of about three or four goblins from Green Grist made a serious push for a score. At first, "Squish" Grenz attempted to make off with the ball and ran as far as possible down field with it in his possession. However, three short squares away from the endzone he is blitzed by Bullseye. Losing the ball, a followup is made by Grist Gritz, protected by Numbaz, to pick up the ball and pass it to "Squish", who has made a run straight to the endzone, but the pass fails. A turnover on a failed pass by the Skullz allows for the final attempt right before the buzzer. Numbaz performed a successful blitz against Bullseye (with some assistance, of course) and ran the ball in to the end zone for a score.
Good game, teams! And good game, coach DeaconFireblade.”
“Addition: We would also like to report the untimely death of Cruty the Lame. While trying to dodge around an opponent, Crusty was tripped and landed upon a chewed up femur bone stuck into the ground. Seems the Troll blocker Noomba Un had left the trash from his latest snack (victim) strewn about and Crusty's bad leg caused him to trip and impale himself onto the wickedly sharp object.
On a happier note, the Cracked Skullz celebrated their first victory with a grand send off for their former teammate. According to black orc Breck Legbreaker, "Crusty waz yummie!"”
