When I saw dreadclaw's dark elves on gamefinder with a 9/0/0 record I thought I had to try and end their brilliant start with my similarly-rated chaos dwarves. Apparantly he's had a 16-game winning streak up until this match too and is going for 20 and the ludicrously hard to get massive winning streak award!

Here's hoping we can put an end to it!

The elves start well pushing players through to put pressure on our lone hobgoblin, who despite sure hands fumbles the pickup meaning the elves blitz through and steal the ball. They stall for a turn but with my players coming back are forced to score on turn 4.

We push forwards with the ball (despite an elf Blitz roll) looking to score quickly, but are soon taken down and it looks like the elves have a clearcut chance to score again if they can just make a 3+ pickup and 2+ dodge- fortunately they fail on the pickup and for the next few turns everything goes right for us while the elves are failing easy dodges (both teams out of RRs) and we somehow manage to score on our final turn to equalise the game (as a bonus we've also BH their only DP!)

Our own remaining DP fails to wake up on 2 consecutive rolls so we set up 10 to defend vs 11 elves- could be close! The dark elves play excellently, and could easily have scored by turn 4-5 but instead need to run down the clock to ensure they win and go for several turns of stalling where all we can do is get a tackle zone on the ball carrier many times in a row. They run in the touchdown without needing to throw a dice on their 8th turn. We set up for what head hobgoblin Nobgob calls the fabled 'pushy' touchdown but none of the dwarves really know what they are doing and it comes to nothing!

Congrats on the win DreadClaw and I hope you make the 20!

Excellent match report, and an excellent game I very much enjoyed. It was close at times, and I had real trouble, but in the end we rolled just enough dice and had just enough luck to take down the 2-1.

I would like to say I played skillfully, but I missed 1 perfect blitz opportunity by him on the carrier (which thankfully he missed as well)

A bit of typical running the ball across the pitch bloodbowl elfstalling and I managed to get that win.

It was an exciting game, where both sides were by no means lost in dice. I won by the grit of my teeth and the hair clenched between my buttocks.
