“The day opened with the Troggs Reborn looking for blood and the Blackstone Legion looking to play ball.
The Troggs started out with the ball, but were immediately harassed in the backfield by the Legion. Quickly throwing off the harassment, the Troggs drove down the sideline, only to loose the ball. After a brief scramble, Pathos the ghoul came up with the ball, but was struggling in the tentacles of Reanimator Crusher. Superb blocking by the Troggs left Pathos little choice but to flee, sprinting down field, in hopes that no one would be able to catch him. Fortunately for the Legion this proved to be the case. After the second kick the Legion tried (unsuccessfully) to hold back the Troggs. In response the Troggs either injured or knocked out 5 people, capping off their drive with a short pass and a dash to score.
The second half started with the Legion recovering the kick deep in their backfield. The Troggs quickly dominated the line of scrimmage, knocking over or injuring Legion players left and right. After playing with their food for a bit, the Troggs charged the two ghouls deep in the backfield who were still trying to control the slippery ball. Helian ducked aside and connected on a long pass to Bregean. The Troggs tried to stop him, but the elusive Bregean would not go down and went on to score. The perfect defense fielded by the Legion allowed Pathos to snag the ball when Ulna Breaker fumbled the pickup. Even though the Troggs still dominated the line of scrimmage, they could not take Pathos down before he ducked away to score. The Legion Blitzed the kickoff and, although they did try (and fail) to catch the ball, they put themselves in position to score again. The Troggs struck back immediately, again dominating the line of scrimmage, and even recovering the loose ball. But the Legion managed to take the ball away immediately and Pathos sprinted down field, only to end up inches short of the end zone as time ran out.
All in all an excellent game. Tensai's blocking and injury rolls were excellent, mine stank. On the other hand, my dodges were top notch and Tensai had trouble with key ball control rolls. I think the deciding factor in the game was a combination of good kicking and the 3 pre-kick readjustments I received. The combination allowed me to get to the ball and hinder Tensai's play immensely.”
