“Well what can I say? The halflings never got a chance to do anything right. It was a bit of torture to sit and watch them as nuffle took them apart, piece by piece. This game was full of crazy stuff, such as a tree blocking my blitzer with three dice and getting skul/skull/block. DOH!!! After a while one could even expect that whatever you tried to do would fail. On the other hand, I also had my fair share of idiotic rolls but my opponent won that battle and in the end it proved to be fatal. He ended the game with 42% luck and everyone knows that halflings need more than that to stand a chance.
I would gladly meet grandisaquila for a rematch. He was polite, but bitter (who could blaim him - lol) and I am convinced he is a better player than he showed in this game. Hope to see you soon!! Better luck next time.
As a final note I have to add that it all evens out in the end. I played a real blood bowl game with my cousin after this one in my home. I played new high elves against his new orcs. I recieved but the first kick off was a blitz for my cousin. After that he was all over my players so the ball had to get into safety. It was lying free so I tried to pick it up with my thrower (with a re-roll) and failed. When it was my turn again I still had a chance to get the ball into safety. First I had to clear the ball so I tried to block with two dice/my choice. It came up with a skull/skull. And so it went on, turn after turn. As crazy as it sounds, but it's true, after five turns I still had a couple of players who hadn't moved since the kick off. EVERYTHING I tried failed. As soon as it was my turn it would cause a direct turn over. My cousin got five turns in a row. I have never seen anything like it and if I hadn't seen it I wouldn't have believed it. It was just simply outstanding. The game was an utter disgrace but at least we both had a real good laugh. I lost 1-3 since there was nothing I could do but to sit and watch the humiliation.
So I guess I just wanted to say I know how grandisaquila felt when nuffle gave it to him in our game. You should know that I got it even worse against my cousin!!! All you can do is smile.
