“Sometimes, luck really is the deciding factor in a game. After a 1-1 first half and a bit of elfball in the beginning of the second half, the score was 1-2 as the orcs set up to receive the ball on their turn 2. It seemed a simple proposition to get at least a tie by the end of regular time, the elves having been consistently outbashed. However, this was the moment when the sorcerer's magic kicked in.
It started with a Blitz result on the kick-off, followed by two unfortunate orc blocks, one sucking up the RR, the other downing a black orc. The end result: A score of 1-3 and the orcs setting up to receive again on their turn 3.
This time it started more promising, but again the block-daemon struck, this time two turns in a row, and left the orc ball-carrier completely alone against two elves, mere paces from the end zone.
So, orcs receiving on their turn 6, score 1-4. I give my opponent credit for at least trying to get one last TD in the remaining time instead of wailing or screaming.
My win here was not exactly well-deserved, but a win's a win in a tournament.”
