New Ostland received the kickoff and the Raptors moved into a typical defense...everything looked good and then BAM! A catcher dodged away from tackle and diving tackle...the thrower dodged away from the Kroxigor, two gfi, a long pass and catch and it was 1-0 Saints...the crowd was on their feet - the quick strike and New Ostland had upset on their minds. The Raptors played poorly, only fueling the hope for the Saints...Anika used up a team RR on 2d block and 3d block (she really needs block skill), partially due to that, a skink tripped (no RR left for gfi) attempting to score. For a moment, it looked like it would be 2-0 Saints...however, the Raptors recovered - Anika picked up the ball and trudged down for the TD right before halftime to make it 1-1.
In the second half, one strategy was to go for the grind it out victory as the Saints were short players; however, the Raptors sensed a chance for some additional experience and another handoff to Anika and she scored her second TD of the game. The Saints had the ball and 4 turns to get a draw - but events did not go well for them, Drew Brees was knocked down and stunned...Jamie Martin recovered the ball, but then was smashed hard into the crowd...the crowd was merciless - odds were it was Saints fans a bit annoyed at an earlier turnover caused by Jamie that helped the Raptors score. The ball was thrown back into the pitch and Anika raced to the endzone and on T16, Anita Stinker handed off the ball to Anika for her 3rd TD of the match.”
