“Evening sports fans, this is Howard Caskill, bringing you the highlights of the WayWatchingWarriors taking on OAU.
The elves, suffering a huge loss to Blackie Lawless in their previous match, by being unable to do much of anything right. It seems that they're still trying to figure out what the problem is. Unfortunately for them, they hosted OAU who have been on fire this season, unbeaten so far and racking up an impressive 10 casualties in two games.
The first half sees the undermanned elves getting the kick-off. WWW does a good job of breaking the wall of ogre defenders, but the ogres are ready for it and quickly get back. Meanwhile OAU's impressive line clears a few of the elves off the field. After having their drive halted and down to a handful of players, WWW started to play reckless and somehow seemed to stop the Ogres from scoring (which would of sent the game to half-time at 0-0)... yet as time was running out, Terrence "the Infirm" fell over attempting to steal the ball from the middle of a horde of ogres, knocking it right into the hands of Sukgra. Who was unceremoniously grabbed by Dar' Mal and hurled towards the end zone. Amazingly Sukgra landed upright and the ruling on the field was a TD. OAU takes a 1-0 lead into the half and are set to receive the kick-off.
The second-half starts with only 7 elves able to take the field, against a motivated and very healthy OAU squad. It looked like the ogres could smell victory and seemed extra focused. Once the ball is kicked, OAU just muscles it's way up the field, keeping the pesky elves at bay (those that got too close, were generally sent off the field). Sukgra scores a second TD following the line of ogre blockers, putting OAU up 2-0. Now WWW is down to 6 elves and it seems defeated is inevitable. The elf who went to pick up the loose ball on the kick-off must have had very sweaty hands as he eyed the wall of ogres charging at him, bobbling it for a second, before one of said ogres leveled him with a block. OAU, in complete control clears a few more elves off the field before Snuggo gets the ball and scores the final TD... giving OAU it's first victory of the season, 3-0. On the final kick-off, the remaining three elves healthy enough to take the field, did so but I believe that sweaty palm thing was going around ending the game on a sour note for WWW.
Mur' Gad, adding his 4th casualty inflicted in his third game (including two confirmed kills), was awarded the MVP. Newcomer, Doom' Grad, inflicted a casualty on his first ever block as a member of OAU. We got a chance to speak to both of them after the match... Mur' Gad said "Wez do gud, mez no get hold of elfie gud an' not smash em lik girlie and rat". Doom' Grad was quoted as saying "Mez reelie happee ta be wit da teem, dey a gud bunch, mez hope mez can contriboot".
elvenavatar got nuffle raped two games in a row (I spec'd his first match)... although things could be much worse, he did manage to walk away with only a MNG and 60k to help replace the dead elf from his first game. Unfortunately, he lost a combined 8-0. As well as a total of only 4 SPP, besides those earned by MVP. Rough, rough, rough start to the ABBA. I hope things look up for him in his future matches.

P.S. Re-watched the second half, yeah I was pretty lucky with the BH rolls, only 8 fails the whole half and I moved every ogre almost every turn. The first half, I know that I failed three in a row one turn and used a RR to reroll a BH fail in another 1st half turn. I'm thinking that I had at least 1 per turn on average (7 ogres, 1-in-6 chance). Mathematically I was only a little lucky... playing JBB though, I was exceptionally lucky. =)”
