“Our elves take on Burnalot's "necro" team though it's really one flesh golem and 13 raised zombie players from other teams. That's right - apart from the flesh golem every other player is a raised opponent!!

Of note they have EIGHT dirty players... come on ref!!

It starts out quite messily with us trying to get at the ball in their backfield and their blocking going very well - a BH and a SI in the first 3 turns plus a BH from a foul (ref sent him off at least). We still manage to somehow score on turn 5 after a brave 1d blitz and then some good use of nerves of steel to grab the ball and run.

Hopefully the tide of casualties will slow down - though there's nothing permanent yet we are running out of linemen for the LOS. With 3 turns left the zombie horde is forced to try some desperate moves including a long pass that goes nowhere. We have a decent chance of moving it right back down the other end here but first we need to cover their zombie who could conceivably get the ball and score - and we roll double 1s trying to move a player over to him - whoops! He manages the pickup and the GFI he needs to get the 1-1 equalising touchdown!

In the meantime another DP has been sent off by the elvish ref but we are still facing 6 of them. We set up 10 vs 11 zombies (no more subs for them!). We score quickly with a nice pass + handoff into double tacklezone (<3 NOS) combo though take a KO meaning we set up 9 vs 11 for what may be the final drive of the game.

With a 'bad' kick putting the ball right by the side on the half way line we have a chance for some shenanigans - and it works very well for us as we blitz with our star catcher and a few other elves to dislodge the ball. When the zombies return the block with a double skulls we are given a great chance to grab the ball and run well out of reach. This, however enrages the remaining zombies and they first of all chain-push our star blitzer Justine Thimberleak right into the stands (SS negated when chainpushed, you learn something new every day) where our frantic fans tear him to pieces in their fervour to get a keepsake! And then directly afterwards a single zombie DP fouls our new catcher into a niggling injury that the apothecary can do nothing about! We score but it's bittersweet as only 5 line up to face one final turn of zombie madness. However nothing else happens as they can only KO with their last foul of the game.
