“Return of the King - Round 1:

Our quest to capture the one ring began with some old foes standing in our way...but we knew these Orcs and were not scared! We took the opening kickoff and smashed into these weakling! A well placed boot for a BH reduced the number of black orcs by one for the match...a few hard hits from our MB blitzers knocked out a few others and we used the number superiority to press forward. Grushnak got in a wicked blow on Captain Thingol - but our apothecary was up to the task, and without any other CAS or KOs, it was 11 to 7 on the pitch until the waning moments...then Pugash, a very silly Orc stood up and had the misforunate of *making* his 5+ dodge...because for his trouble he was sent into the crowd where our fans made short work of this foolish orc! We scored and no TTM attempt possible for the orcs, it was 1-0 at the half.

In the second half, the orcs came out with some fire in their belly...Gibbo the goblin was perfectly tossed downfield and then as we pressed our advantage, the orcs morphed into elves...a troll blitzed 6 spaces (2 gfi) for a 3d block that POW'ed our blitzer that was marking their thrower...then the thrower raced upfield...pushing it, hands off to another thrower...he gfis twice...the goblin stands up and dodges away from a tackler and pushes to get into endzone - a long pass from midfield is perfect and the catch for the 1-1 score.

However, 7 turns remained for the Corsairs and they did what they do best - took it to the orcs! Captain Ar-Surin carried the ball expectedly past the defense (even if it was a perfect defense), some of the orc blitzers tried to catch up to him, but for their trouble we gave our fans another treat...and Gumbag the blitzer was gouged and bashed by the crowd...he will be missing the next game recovering :P With the depleted orcs barely bothering to stand up, the ball was handed off to Captain Aidan - who scored a TD in his first game with the team.

Overall, our blocking was average - no CAS from blocking (1 BH from foul, 1 SI, 1 RIP from crowd); however, a nice percentage of armor breaks when it matters in the form of stuns and a few KOs. Baby Gutsplitter again came up big with a pair of multiblocks that send orcs sprawling and opened up the offense!

Now, we march forward...the fools from Minas Tirith now stand in our way. There will be blood!”
