#8 Peder – Dead (RIP)
Rise of Akallabeth 0 - 4 Woodmen of Druadan Forest
http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=match&id=2132515

Having received a brutal 4-0 kicking the last time these teams met, the Woodmen weren't too confident. But with the Akallabeth team looking a bit short on numbers, there was still a chance.

The handicaps were as good as could be hoped for. A virus took out the Akallabeth ST5 blitzer and one of his team meates too, puting them down to 10 men before the game had even started.

While there were 4 td's in the game, there really were no impressive tactical moves to speak of. With the Akallabeth players failing to handle the ball well and all the skulls they rolled while blocking, the game went from bad to worse for them. After just 3 turns of the first half they were down to just 8 players and with bad dice it was all they could do just to keep hold of the ball, let alone do anything with it. They did manage to remove 3 players with BH's in the second half, but the game was already gone with the score at 2-0 and 3-0 soon followed.

Having had their side reduced to 11 in the final of Two Towers, the Woodmen have to be delighted with a result like this. On top of the win, they received 90k in gold which is enough for a 4th Blitzer and they skilled 4 players too. The skills weren't bad either. Their AG4 Blitzer was upped to AG5 and their Ogre 'Torben' acquired the handy Block skill. Their excitement may be short lived though as the Woodmen will now have to face a rematch, either with Wotfud's deadies or Seraphim Red's elves. Either way, further progression in the Return of the King seems unlikely. The preferred match up would probably be against the elves, but only because of their less brutal nature.

The scalp of the last winners of RotK is nice, but my sympathies do goto to Borup though. His team never showed up today and neither did any good dice. Quad skulls twice with a +ST frenzy guy when you're down to less than 10 men says everything about the way this game went. Unlucky Borup.
