#10 Clone Trooper Vera Rice – Broken Ribs (MNG) #10 Clone Trooper Vera Rice – Serious Concussion (-AV)
“An epic game.
Going into the game, it seemed like the Ryoth Champions would have the advantages with multiple blodgers and tackle along with a 1 player advantage. However, it was not the case for the Ryoth armor had been weakened before the match.
The first three blocks of the game were all armor breaks (stun, stun, SI(-av)). The massive armor breaks continued all game (3 CAS, 9 KOs against Ryoth all by blocking). With every block by the Sith a POW and more than half breaking armor...it seemed like the Sith were unstoppable - however, they left a wide opening to the ballcarrier, so Yoda could race in for a 2d block (with tackle) against the blodger Sith...but only pushes. A trooper easily walked up and POWed Yoda and the Sith were up 1-0.
No KOs return and Ryoth is now fighting against superior numbers. Events get worse as a quad skull/pow from a clone results in a RIP on the trooper - saved by our healer after some consideration. Fortunately, even with the early turnover, the Sith play cautiously and do not go for the ball..their timid play even with the blocks going for them is their undoing as a simple 2d block for a push and Yoda slips past the defense for a TD.
No KOs return again and we are further shorthanded. The Sith pull off more amazing plays to score - their padawan throwing it long and a trooper catching it in 2 tackle zones, then dodging through tackle zones to score (all without needing a RR).
1 KO finally returns, but we are horribly outnumbered and down 2-1 to start the second half. The Sith blitz off the kickoff (to start second half, 40% to 80% luck differential)...they grab the ball as well on the kickoff. Damage goes both ways as we each rack up a BH and KO...but numbers still favor the sith. They have several shots at the ballcarrier, but do not RR the 2d blocks - instead saving their RRs for later (they would end the game with quite a few RRs banked still). Yoda finally broke free and there were some fans shouting to stall...scoring now against such numbers would be a sure loss...but Yoda did not waver - he raced in for the score...we were here to play to win!
2 KOs return giving us 7 players, although again off the kickoff another of our players is KOed...so we have 6. However, then then inexplicable happens. The Sith leave their ball carrier in range of Yoda and make a bunch of 1d blocks...finally Trooper CS-14/64.199 rolls skull/skull and it is a turnover. The clone that the sith trooper was marking races forward and provides the mark on the sith padawan so that Yoda can have a free and clean blitz on the ball carrier. A pow/skull drops the ball carrier and Yoda claims the ball...an amazing turnaround as finally the Sith fail to roll POWs and Yoda avoids the last ditch attempts of the Sith to reclaim the ball and Yoda scores again!
On T16, a sith trooper rolls skull/pow on a block and instead of RRing takes the results which is a SI on the sith trooper which is apothed.”
