#4 Jaded Joe – Smashed Knee (NI) #4 Jaded Joe – Broken Ribs (MNG)
“Stunty Rookie Rumble round III and it's our pygmies (finally decided on an apo instead of more pygmies for the meatgrinder) vs some strong adepts. Daggers are going to be nasty vs my av6...
They have 14 players vs our 11, a DP, blodge on the assassin and we don't even have an eagle warrior to catch their speed. Prediction: unless we casualty half of them in the first half they will destroy us!
We grab the ball and start punching. Their first foul results in a BH'd pygmy and their DP sent off- a nice swap for us! We push up trying to block down as many as possible (especially the daggers) but though we manage to remove 7 of them it's all to the KO box- we need casualties! We make a major mistake here not noticing that our kroxi has boneheaded- leaving a clear gap for a dagger-adept to nip through and stab our ball carrier. Whoops! When we can only push him in the next turn that means we have to make a 5+ pickup in the pouring rain and a dodge to score- which with a RR we manage, phew!
7/8 of the adepts in the KO box bounce to their feet leaving us with no advantage whatsoever- bah!
In their final turn of the half the daggers line up and stab both our kroxis into the KO box- uh oh!
We set up for the 2nd half down a kroxi though at least one woke up, facing the full adept team (except of course their DP). On their 2nd turn a dagger blitz niggles one of our claw warriors and the apo fails to save him. They push forward another dagger BH'ing our other claw, while our kroxi has spent all 3 turns bone headed on the ground. Just as he stands up the adepts run in the touchdown to make it 1-1. We have just 5 pygmies plus the 2 kroxis to set up vs 11 adepts. Doesn't look good!
They make a nice kick that lands on the line of scrimmage to one side and when we try and pick it up our alligator warrior BH's himself going for it. A dagger blitzes the other pygmy by the ball (also BH) and that means it's going to be an unopposed pickup and run for the endzone by their assassin.. he grabs it and runs downfield to score with ease on their final turn to win it for the adepts!
We just couldn't put the hurt on them in the first half (rolled a lot of KOs and no casualties) and when they started the 2nd half their injuries came up as a lot of casualties sustained for us- ah well!
