“Note to self: never EVER start an argument with a Dark Elf sorcerer. They tend to have a short fuse and be extremely imaginative when talking about dirty tricks.
An archmage overseer, sent by none other than Lord Nalfein, paid a visit to the team into the dugout just before the start of the match. As it turned out, said archmage was a longtime acquaintance of blitzer Vargas "Blade" Everhate who seemingly was used to call him "squig-face" in the years of their youth.
Coach Babau didn't exactly understand what happened. Fact is, all the dark elf team entered the fray tap-dancing incontrollably. And that lasted all the match.
Coach Gran actually put up a very good play... that was sort of wasted (he would have won anyway) against elves that fumbled the ball in many occasion and didn't manage to stay up after getting blocked despite their dodging ability and the overall lack of tackle of the enemy.
On the flip side of the coin, once on the ground, an elf would start to break dance on the spot, carousing and somersaulting and overall cushioning his fall (and incidentally not managing to come out from the KO pitch even if recovered, since climbing those stairs while breakdancing was out of question)... anyway no lasting hurt on the team.
Also, the fans liked the elves' performance and the team got good money for the day. At the end of the match, the public invaded the pitch and started a big dance party during which Skink Matlalcihuatzin was inadvertentely stepped on by a drunk Black Orc.. hopefully the little lizard will get well with a little rest.
Upon their return home, all the elves were put to the lash for their heinous defeat. Head torturess Chelyrra Everhate went as far as joining the team to "whip some sense into those imbeciles".
Coach Babau escaped the lash since the Dark Gods pronounced him innocent of all these events. The pious donation of 11.000 golden pieces made to the Dark Temple by Babau himself may have perhaps influenced that judgment but hey... who are we to debate with the Powers that Be?
House Everhate will have revenge! As soon as his players can sit again without pain, that is.... ”
