The Pirates looked in good shape when they entered the field to go head on with the Middenheim Underworld Dolphins in their first match in the OBC-north and the OFL.

A rather disappointing turnout of 11000 avid fans got to see a game packed with action and fast paced Blood Bowl. The Pirates received the first kick off and took control of the match right away. The always commanding Arath Darkblade moved the ball forwards to Vierna Slowdeath, who started a fierce run that did not break until she could receive well earned ovations in the Dolphins’ end zone. The achievement was first bested in the second half by Vierna’s second and the Pirate’s 3rd TD of the day. An offensive run by one of the Dolphins’ gutter runners was effectively stopped by the witch’s frenzied blocking. Deep from her own half, Slowdeath started the run that brought the Pirates up in a tree point lead and secured the victory. Lineman Greimas scored the last TD after a masterful interception followed by a well supported run for the end zone, settling the final score to 4 – 0.

The Dolphins had a lousy day on the field, managing very little at all. The second dark elf TD was more or less caused by a poorly timed foul, which resulted in the sending off of the skaven thrower. This surely hampered their game along with several knockouts and a minor injury.

The Dark Bay Pirates got off to a flying start in the tournament and with all players up and ready they look to the next challenge with great expectations!
