Coach Winstons new recruits from the chaos wastes of the north seemed to revel in the violence, as did the recently raised corpses playing under coach Ziggy, possibly the reanimated bodies of other players killed under his tyrannical training regime.

Baneful ground out a 1-0 with a stubborn defence, despite the fast-paced wolfmen of Restless Jed giving the beastman the run-around. The game got even uglier when Coach Winstons signalled the beastmen to start indiscriminate fouling, resulting in the return of both a zombie and a flesh golem to the quiet of the grave...for now.

Banefuls captain, Lord Varok, had this to say after the match - "Lord Varok bathes in your blood! He does not care for this "football" you speak of! Bring me more virgins to despoil, immediately! This I command!", shortly before headbutting the reporter into unconsciousness.

Coach Ziggy declined to speak to the press, but was believed to be focusing his necromantic efforts in summoning less clumsy zombies in future.”
