“As was tradition, Kondor crossed the pitch and shook hands with his friend and opposing coach known as the Fool who Laughs at Death. Fool had offered him a more than fair match. In fact, the odds favored a win for the Elite Squad from the beginning. Still, when you face a superior coach, you better be on your game.
Today, Kondor gave away a possible win by trying to kill the clock a bit. In other cases, it may have worked, but after going for it twice, the ghoul managed to single handedly knock the ball from the elf threatening to score the go ahead touchdown. To top it off, the elf proved inept, and could not pick up the ball, dodge away from the ghoul, or even knock it into the stands. All attempts resulted in the elf lying on the ground.
Still, Kondor could not complain too loudly. The game could have gone much worse. The Tropa de Elite had learned before the match that there was a bounty o the head of the company werewolf as he was using illegal drugs. They waited their chance to execute justice on the fiend. The chance came early in the second half when the strength beast invaded the Elite Squad's backfield. Yet in doing so, he tripped. Seizing the opportunity, every available elf subdued the critter, and put him in the injured box for the remainder of the game. Without that blunder, the licanthrope would have caused more havoc.
In the end, the draw was probably the best outcome. Next time, it may be different.”
