After having finished his first top flight game of Blood Bowl, Grimtoof, the Gutrippers' captain, announced he wanted "go smash dem nancy Elfs". The Woodland Specs were swiftly lined up for the next match.

Despite Grimtoof's enthusiasm, the match started disastrously for the Orcs when Chukkit stumbled trying to escape from an Elf tackle and succeeded only in eliminating himself from the game and fumbling the ball into the crowd where an alert Specks fan seized it and threw an inch perfect pass to Catcher Servle, who gratefully gathered it in (rumours that unnamed fan has been recruited by a top Elf team to be their new starting passer have yet to be proved or disproved). However instead of heading directly for the line, Servle started showboating by the corner flag and Zammo flew across the field to knock him unconscious. Despite the Goblin's heroics, Catcher Sven gathered to loose ball in the end zone to score the opening touchdown.

After this shock start the Gutrippers established their physical superiority in a grind it out fight at the line of scrimmage before Grimtoof, sprung by excellent work from Gorblad, raced across the line, shrugging off the feeble attempts of Sven to stop him.

The second half was perhaps even more thrilling that the first. It started with a dazzling and perfectly executed move where Wardancer Pug collected the ball and handed it off the Lineman Zaeleen, who tossed a short pass to Sven, who promptly evaded the despairing tackle of Grimtoof to score. The Woodland Specks had moved the ball three quarters of the length of the pitch in a breathtaking reminder of exactly what Elves are capable of on a Blood Bowl field.

Grimtoof's team again found themselves behind only seconds into the half, but again they rallied behind their captain. A superbly timed chase allowed Servle to reclaim the Specks own kickoff but Grimtoof was having none of it. He flew across the pitch and slammed into the unsuspecting Elf before gathering the ball and heading upfield. Pug caused him to fumble but Scargul regathered and, escorted by a phalanx of his teammates, drove through the remnants of the Elf defence to score. Special mention should be made to Gurnrot, who removed the dangerous Pug from the game.

Not enough time was left on the clock for either team to do anything constructive but that didn't stop a brutal melee which resulted in the death of Servle at the hands of Grotsmasher.

Player of the Game: Grimtoof (again). Vital in attack, colossal in defence. Grimtoof prevented at least one certain TD as well as scoring one of his own and setting up the final one.

Honourable Mention: Grotsmasher. Caused the first fatality in team history.

Fatalities Caused: Grotsmasher - Servle
