“Pundits claimed that the matchup between #1 Akron Zips and #6 Pain State was a mismatch of goliath proportions. It was. We all know how David fared in that mismatch, what was unclear was how the greenskins would fare vs. the nigh-unstoppable Woodelves. The sling, in this case was the combination of out of sight luck, and 3 handicaps, including Morley's Revenge, and mostly Knuckledusters. Kiill YaboaKobold wore'em and quickly put them to good use scoring a hattrick of casualties on the day, but the biggest impact was the death of Annika Petterson and Ashe Hammer the pair of Wardancers that have accumulated 180 SPPs combined. These two monsters have plagued the backfield, frontfield and all points between of countless teams in the NCBB.

The KO's, and injuries mounted quickly and the greenskins maintained control of the ball to limit the offensive capabilities of the Zips. 2nd half started and Akron went to work the only way they know how, by scoring quickly. Recieivng the ball back, Pain State refused, despite tremendous pressure, to give up the ball and their continued success at knocking elves off the field spelled the doomsday bell for Akron.

The win puts Pain State back in the hunt as they still have several games left to play on their schedule and with renewed confidence they could yet see themselves vying for a top spot. Akron on the other hand, dealt a vicious blow with the loss of their top two players must rebound quickly to maintain their dominance of the league. They have cashflow to immediately hire another Wardancer if they choose to do so, but he or she has some big shoes to fill and with games left vs. Wolferines and the Wombatts, they may yet be toppled from their throne.
