“One great game, one damn great game, nay, one awesome game.

I had looked for a slightly easier recovery game for a while and didn't find one so I challenged those orcs thinking that without a big guy I might escape with few casualties...little did I know what was about to happen. It started off with opponent getting the ref in first kickoff...

In the first half nothing, I mean NOTHING, I did succeded and the AV of my norse was sheer paper against the orcs with KO & stun galore. Equally amazingly the opponent didn't manage to score a SINGLE casualty against my norse even with get the ref and the fouling that ensued....I mean, I had what, 4-5 players in KO bin or off the pitch - including the minotaur - and not a single casualty. In the end i was completely incapable of doing anything - coherent or successful - to stop the opponent from going 1-0.

Even the last turn after the TD was hilarious, I lined up my team to bash the opponent and...PITCH INVASION! I had minotaur and one lineman standing near the LOS...got one block off before failing a ball pick up. :-D

I was quite literally laughing my ass off - and still can't help myself when thinking about it

But not all was lost, as my players stayed off the injury box I got phenomenal luck with KO rolls and everyone, I mean everyone, returned to the pitch. I started off 2nd half with 11+1 players like I started the match. A completely unforeseen miracle.

I decided to capitalize on this turn of events and went on ball-game mode and it paid off with first goal coming after a nice passing game and opponent failing several critical blocks & blitzes trying to stop it.

The winning goal was again something quite else...The opponent failed a ton of rolls and my desperate dodge, one die blitz, ball lift from TZ and a dodge paid off...It was a stroke of luck the player near the ball had dodge. Next turn he evaded a 2d blitz, a 2d block and dodged away from a middle of a stupefied orc pack to score the winning goal...with 2 GFI to top it off. Overall he - Nikolai - managed to evade 6 thrown block dice in the 2 critical turns, did 3 succesfull dodges, one single die blitz and two GFIs to score an unforgettable TD. If there has ever been a player who deserved the man of the match award it would have to be Nikolai, the dodging lineman. :D

I also have to congratulate SuperNinjaStar: He was gracious in giving a nuffling in the first half and cheered me on in the 2nd half even with my luckier dice.

This game was thoroughly enjoyable and one of the best blood bowl games I've ever played on or off FUMBBL, made even more enjoyable by the great opponent!

I'm looking forward to our next encounter.”
