I was too scared to play this game at first - all that mighty blow was somewhat daunting - but in the end I thought that was just cowardly, and I knew Nemeton was a good and fair player so I thought I'd just play it and hope for the best...

Well, the best is what happened. I started with a quick snap and a 1-turn TD. Then Nemeton's luck cut in... BAD luck. Nothing he tried worked, and everything I tried worked. I collected a fumble and scored, scored off a blitz, and it was 3-0 on turn 3.

Things settled down after that, but Nemeton just couldn't get a single good block result. He had only a handful of POWs all half, and no failed armour rolls.

It was 4-0 at the half and by then Nemeton was just playing for pride. Sadly, the dice wouldn't let him and apart from a couple of BH injuries, the wood elves continued to succeed in everything they did. Finally, snake eyes prevented him from even scoring the consolation TD.

I hereby apologise wholeheartedly for my unfeasible good luck and agree to a rematch whenever Nemeton wants, no matter how much block and tackle he's got by then.

Biggest defeat ever, but also one of the funniest matches in recent time for me - I simply could not get those pesky dodging elves down, I really need a few tackle players on my team :-D

After 3 turns WE were ahead 3-0 and the match was more or less over, but I had to try and get at least 1 TD, and I was rather close a few times but no, it was not meant to be, at least not in this game......

But the most important thing was that this match was incredibly fun to play. That I lost and lost big doesnt matter - it was just fun to watch Stikki give an awesome display of what WE can do with just a little luck and some good coaching.

6-0, my biggest defeat ever and yet I sit here with a big grin on my face and write this. As long as we both had fun the result is secondary ;-)
