What a game...what a game! I thought I had seen it all...and then this..

A game where my norse almost completely failed at blocking and when they suceeded it usually caused a KO or injury - I kid you not. On the other hand they succeeded in every ball play they tried, all the time, and didn't fail a single dodge during the game. The elves of the opponent other hand started off with a bad dodge day but good block day but..but..the AV of my Norse was broken maybe 2-3 times...before the last turn, in which the opponent managed two KOs and a RIP (saved by apo). However, what really made the game bizzare were the GFI rolls of my opponent, by god he failed them - with or without rerolls.

First half started off with my norse kicking the ball off and getting a perfect defence that seriously hampered any attempt of the elves to play ball and ended up with my norse stealing the ball and scoring a TD...though not without complications, like loosing the ball for most of the half. I had to make a passing game and even then the goal scorer had to avoid 2DB block and make a dodge to score the goal - Overall an entertaining half...

...but nothing compared to the second half. The game started with my man advantage - 11 to 8 - and I thought the game was pretty much finished especially after I got another reroll from the kickoff. How wrong can one be? First turn went pretty nicely, even though my minotaur failed to knockover an elf with 2x3DB blocks (trust me he did that more than once)...but the 2nd turn: 4 skulls (in a second game in a row) and instant turnover. Just goes to show you that the maxim safe moves first DOES have its merits :D Then the sneak...bastar...agile elves stood to the effort by blitzing succesfully my ball carrier. However the ball ended to a tackle zone behind a few dodges. Not to worry though, the blood...agile elves dodged to the ball, managed to pick it up and pass it to a free player....needless to say, I was laughing my ass off even at this stage. :-D

Then things started getting into twilight zone...I failed many blocks to put an elf down and it seemed the ball would go too far in my zone for my norse to stop the TD. Then Nuffle blessed me - or rather cursed the elves - and the opponent failed a TON of GFIs with first double-failure (rerolled) stunning the unlucky elf. I decided to take advantage of the stun and simply position my norse so that ball would be safe and beat the living daylights off...too bad my blocks continued to be cushioned by..who knows what? Probably had too much beer before the game.

However, the very next turn my opponent responds by dodging twice out of a TZ of a tackle norse, lifting the ball with a FAILED GFI, that was successful after a reroll, and taking the critical GFI right into the goal and FAILING IT AGAIN. Next turn I take the ball and shield it and the elves once more try to come near the ball but fail YET ANOTHER GFI in the process. After that it was more or less a silly run to TD line with poor elves never quite managing to succeed in critical rolls.

During that period of the game - turns 2-6 of half 2 - I myself managed perhaps 3-4 succesful blocks, which explains the luck percentage a bit, but caused 2 badly hurts. It also took an effort to regain my composure after the absurdity of those few turns when no rolls - except the ball rolls of my norse - were working.

Dunno what to say....A tie would've probably been more correct ending. The game was weird and extremely fun with all the failures it had, from both sides - Though the failures of the elves were much, much more spectacular. The opponent took his extreme GFI unluck in a stride and earned a place on my whitelist for being a fun opponent overall!

I think I'm not entirely mistaken if this is yet another rematch waiting to happen :-D
