#9 Discomfit IV – Broken Ribs (MNG) #9 Discomfit IV – Smashed Knee (NI)
“Agitate had to resort to some dirty tactics to win this one. Chain pushing the ball carrier over the td zone so they could attempt a OTT which nuffle decided to grant. Crushed by this "below the belt" blow, and with more luck granted by nuffle, the stonemasons made the mistake the elves needed.
A hard fought match which is falsely represented by the scoreline!”
“This was a match that the Stonemasons feel could have gone very differently.
The elves opted to receive the kickoff and some good early pressure from the masons forced the elves to score on turn 2.
This allowed the little men to slowly work their way towards a turn 7 TD; hoping for 1-1 half time and a boring 2-1 win.... this was not to be!
The elves played a dandy chain push OTT to score turn 8 and end the half 2-1 up.
At half time the Stonemasons coach decided to settle for a 2-2 draw; a good steady start to the season - but again it was not to be!
The dorfs worked slowly down the field but the Elves managed a 2 GFI, one dice, no block skill, block against the ball carrying dorf blitzer. POW, dropped ball into the middle of some dorf; AG6 elf prances in to pick it up and fling it gracefully to his pansy mate waiting down field.
3-1.
The only highlight for the dorfs was a turn 8 first half gang foul SI/Niggle on the poor pansy left to mark the LOS on the last turn of the half.
Twahnlows:
3pt: #5 Worry II (2 TD and a fair share of blocks)
2pt: #3 Unnerve II (the only Guard elf, always made me watch out for him when considering plays)
1pt: #8 Arouse II (only made 2 blocks but one of them was the single dice against the ball carrier that lead to the 3rd and decisive touchdown).”
