“My first major tourney. Also my first game against Elf. Having spent 230k gold to win the first game, i had only 80k left for this game. Against first elven offense i didn't stand a chance, so it was 1-0 after 2 turns. It nearly became 2-0, but the lightning bolt spared me of that occurrence. In turn 7, only one Hobgoblin was able to score, everyone else was too far away. So Johan ran, and the ball was carried just short across the LoS by Macchiavelli. He got surrounded, but the blitz wasn't done on him. So he broke the tackle of the two elves standing near him, and handed off to Johan who managed to score the equalizer. Second half had me troubled, wizard gone and the deciding square to stop for the elves from lead with a blitz was a 1. 3rd in a row i think. So the elves got the lead again. Now it would have been time to foul with my ballcarrier, the eye was on the elves. But unfortunately i didn't do it, and nuffle made me pay for this, since i could have gotten rid of Feynman, who was boneheaded this game - but caused 2 casualties after not being fouled. Miraculously i managed to score in 2-8 again, Johan threw this time and Macchiavelli scored (and i didn't even need a RR).
The Elfs tried a OTT, but sidestepping CDs didn't make this job easy. And i guess the Elf coach screwed up by mixing up his players.
And so it came:
My first overtime. The Elfs quickly scored and i tried fighting back, but the RRs were gone and so the Hobos' inspired play was worthless. Nuffle gave, by letting me get into OT, but Nuffle also took, since i managed about 1knockdown on an elf in the entire OT. And so Mr. Röntgen made a hattrick.
Thanks malitrius for the exciting game. Thanks Nuffle, i will donate more blood to make you shine more on me next time. Thanks fans and supporters, i will not miss fouling opportunities as often as i did yesterday.
P.S.: there was a blitz for the elfs in OT if i remember clearly, and 1 or two perfect defenses against me, but they didn't screw me as much as my superb blocking dice (i will only count on pushbacks in the future.).”
