“Kondor crossed the pitch and extended his hand to Coach Junior.

Junior had coached a good game, and indeed, Nuffle did frown upon him this outing. Through the entire match, only one coaching error was made, and it cost him a TD, but there were fine moments when the match could have been evened.

Kondor reflected to the first half when the elf-like Dwarf known as Thunderer made a break for the endzone. He came up short, and found himself with a wight in front of him and a ghoul behind him. As he tried to dodge past the ghoul to score, he tripped and the ball fell into the endzone.

Suddenly, the ghoul marking him left and charged a blitzer who had just stood up on the sideline. But Alfinnar was prepared, and with his blocking skill, he knocked the ghoul to the ground.

Thunder, now unmarked, regained his senses and dove on the ball in the endzone scoring a first half TD.

As the second half started, Kondor was pleased with the way the game had gone to this point. The ref had spotted Tuki, when he put an illegal boot into Bolld Axe resulting in Tuki's expulsion from the game. He was a good ref, and BA had recovered for the second half.

Mid way through the second half it looked like BiffBaff would score to tie the ball game. Instead, Thunderer blitzed with the intent of knocking the ghoul towards Blood Axe where the hot tempered slayer could get a crack at him. Instead, he caught the ghoul cleanly and left him stunned with the ball bouncing around like a one legged gobo.

In the following turns, Thunderer worked his way around the scrumm, scooped up the ball and headed the opposite direction while the pile pounded on one another. Earlier, Az had popped a zombies head off only to see it regenerate. Now, Captn Morgrim showed the lad how it was done and tore the head from the wight called Milliwilly and stuffed his cigar into is smoldering chest cavity. "Works better than a stake I do believe." he shouted.

In the final seconds, Thunderer, walked into the endzone for his second score of the day.

When Kondor reached the locker room, he saw that Az was not looking so good. He had aged a bit. It must be the result of all that undead magic. "I'll be alright," he said. I'll stand firm in the middle from here on out. For his part, thunderer had upgraded his equipment. That ghoul had almost scored, so next time he would be more sure of the play. He had fitted his gauntlet with a retractable rake to help him strip the ball. That indeed would help.

Kondor looked forward to the next match.

Junior did fail some key rolls. I will admit that Nuffle played his part, but the play in the first half to knock out my blitzer was risky. I don't think either of us had a reroll at that point.

Nuffle's part was in his DP being tossed out on the first foul he made. I think that put Junior off his game plan.

The Ghoul being knocked down to prevent the score was also a bit lucky. However, I had a reroll in my pocket, and if I had rolled a push, he would have ended up next to my assisted slayer. Odds are that one of the 7 dice I planned to roll would have been a pow.
