Khemri! … again. A much stronger Khemri team… again!
The prospect was as appealing as always as the shambling remnants of what was once a Premiership winning team stepped onto the field to be punched, battered and kicked.
In their last encounter, Mummywell had dominated the field, causing heavy casualties compared to Real’s lowly one, and sticking the boot in many times compared to Real’s zero! Real had suffered a lot since then, and were tired on being the Premiership’s whipping boys, the buck stopped here!
Real palmed the coin and elected to receive. The blockless Skellies on the LOS were quickly dispatched by their more powerful counterparts, the zombies, whilst the rookie mummies just shoved other players about, 2 down, nine to go, but more importantly, their foul specialists were gone.
Mummywell slowly trudged towards the action, a clever blow taking down both a Mummy and a Zombie… but without someone to follow up with a boot, the Khemri looked lost on what to do. One of their Ghoul killing Blitzers decided he had what it took to stand against the Real Zombies; he was soon shown the errors of his ways as Alvaro Novo seriously injured him. Real held their ground at the right flank, allowing the remnants of the Khemri horde to wade in, confident that the Ghoulish speed could be turned on at any time and leave the Khemri floundering behind.
Real spun on their heels and turned towards the left flank, taking a Khemri Mummy down and allowing Juanito to send him to the KO box at the cost of being sent off.
The Khemri were down to 8 men, and only two of them could really affect the game now, their star Throw-Ra and star Blitz-ra – both of whom wheeled back in an effort to stop the Ghouls. Two more Skellies to the KO box, a Mummy marker on the Throw-ra and Ghouls tucked away left Mummywell precariously placed. Nonetheless, they persevered, trying to bar the way. Karla Laburu, team captain, sniggered as he blitzed head long towards leading “current” all-time scorer Jim ‘Bonesaw’ Patterson and dealt him a deafly blow from which no regeneration could revive him!
The crowed howled in delight as the Mummywell coached roared with anger! Mummywell replied with a crippling blow to Alvaro, but it was too little, too late.
1 – 0
Full returns from the KO box saw 11 v 10 for the Khemri drive… and they looked pissed – no one was expecting them to go down in this game, being MUCH stronger and all, least of all them.
The Mummy’s made short work of the LOS then the boot made shorter work of Andrija’s skull, killing him instantly! A tight defence left Real nowhere to punch an hole without exposing themselves, so they dropped back and allowed their Ghoul to harass the rear!
Mummywell blitzed the Ghoul however, again crushing his skull… the second RIP already!
Real retaliated by sending a Skelly to the BH bin…
Mummywell retaliated by fouling Jim ‘Bonesaw’ Patterson to death, his second death this game, but he had more to give and regenerated!
The Beautiful game had been abandoned... the game descended into a blitz foul fest, bodies flying in all directions, and clearly Mummywell had the upper hand.
The score was a merciful relief to the coaches, if not the blood frenzied players.
1 - 1
14 casualties in total, perhaps a league record, and a very poor 3 of those being regenerated left both teams scarce on points and able bodies from that game.
Despite being the only team this season to take points from Mummywell, Real now seem set for relegation, whilst Mummywell’s title run has now become a real title fight!
Onwards and downwards!

Awesome first half followed by terrible second half. Palmed coin probably gave me the opportunity for the first TD, whereas if I’d not started off, I think it likely Grit would have had the win, as once his guys got the momentum in the second half there was no stopping them.
Another Khemri tie this season against a much stronger opposition… did I mention that? :P
Couple of deaths and a SI –ma (He has 2ma now :) ) and yet again we go into the next game weaker than the one before… it’s just our thing this season.
With 2 rookie Mummys, a sole ghoul (On the cusp of aging) and a single Wight, we look more like a zombie team right now.
GG Grit, enjoyable as always! GL with the title fight!
