The Chargers kick to the Champs to start this one off. The Champs attempt to get the Chargers' defense to over-commit on their opening drive. By attacking the south side of the pitch, before cutting back to the north side. The Chargers weren't fooled though, breaking through the offense and laying out the ball-carrier. Unfortunately, the Champs recover the ball with some outstanding play by one of their ghouls, Talon Vahn. He couldn't connect on the pass to Gahrus Grimm though.
The Chargers manage to close the door on the Champs offense after the dropped pass, giving them a small chance to score a defensive TD before the half. The Champs step-up and send the game into the half, all tied up at 0-0.
The second half sees the Chargers receiving the kick. The Chargers' drive starts out well, controlling the line of scrimmage. The Champs get a huge morale boost, by dropping Brood (the Chargers' Minotaur) and fouling him out of the rest of the game. Unfortunately, they over-committed and gave Bleckamar a huge hole to run through, easily scoring the go ahead touchdown.
The Champs still have a chance to walk away with the tie, having plenty of time left to score. The Champs start their drive very strong, with Mumrah "The Ever-living" clearing the way. This wasn't Gahrus Grimm's game though, dropping an easy pass before the half and now he gets tripped up trying to run past Lexem "The Lost", knocking himself out and putting the ball in a good spot for the Chargers. Zendmakar returns the bad play immediately after though, knocking himself down trying to free up a teammate, leaving the door open for the Champs to escape defeat. "Old Rusty" of the Champs closes the door for his team as time expires, flubbing a block.
One of the most exciting matches of the season for the Chargers. Could have gone either way, with many turning points, going back and forth all game. Well played Alonut.”
