“It actually looked like it might snow before the game, but the skies cleared as we were taking the field providing perfect weather for the contest at hand, so we played a bit of the "Need A New Set of Luggage Blues" as we set up to receive.

CD Blocker Stevie Ray Vaughn started the blood flowing early, releasing a "Texas Flood" of pain upon Skink Monica, breaking her jaw and putting her out of this game and the next. We advanced the ball down the field steadily under the protection of our Hobgoblins and Bull Centaur John Lee Hooker and Hobgoblin T-Bone Walker eased into the end-zone in turn 6 for our first touchdown. A bad bounce on the kick-off that put the ball on the LOS essentially ended the lizards' chances of a response, though it did allow Hobgoblin 'Joliet' Jake Blues to sneak in and scarf up an easy SPP with a quick pass to his brother Elwood.

On their first action of the second half, the Sinclair's Kroxigor Earl Sneed double-skulled, allowing us to flood their half and exercise some control over the ball. The lizards attempted to use our bodies to knock the ball loose but only succeeded in dropping it into the waiting arms of CD Blocker Popa Chubby. Popa then hit Skink BP "Low Down and Dirty", smashing his hip and sending him to the SI box to keep Monica company. Saurus Ethynal found an opening and managed to take Popa down and a Skink named Spike snatched it up from under John Lee Hooker's hooves and started running down field, or perhaps just for his life. Hobgoblin Elwood Blues caught up with him and risked a SKULL/POW when he could have simply pushed the lizard; the risk paid off though, as Spike was KO'd whereas Elwood simply went down on the field. Under the protection of his teammates, Elwood bounced up like a "Rubber Biscuit" and managed to grab the ball, scoring our second TD in turn 7.

Some purely gratuitous violence then followed in the last moments of the game. We got a blitz on the kick-off and Bull Centaur John Lee Hooker told Saurus Charlene, "It Serves You Right to Suffer", BHing her, but the apothecary managed to ease the pain as BP looked on jealously from the injury box, tears in his little skinky eyes.”
