Today marked the fourth encounter between ourselves and our kinfolk, the Isolationists. On all prior encounters we had defeated them with relative ease, although they had on more than one occasion left their mark upon us.

This time however, not only were we confident of our victory, but we were also positive that we would be able to go unscathed this time, as their foul happy tactics had been greatly hindered by their lack of training adequate replacements for their fallen dishonourable “heroes”.

Even teams took to the field with us receiving first. Despite an early successful effort on their part to dislodge the ball from our rookie warrior’s hands it took little time for us to establish that we were the dominant force, backed up by our two Blitzing Warriors and our Ground Assassins… the Elves began to leave the field as we slowly took our time to march the length of the battle field.

After the initial threat, only one more opening revealed itself to the Isolationists, but it was a difficult manoeuvre that they couldn’t pull off, and instead saw one of their players badly hurt.

The Isolationist known as Elrond took his teams namesake a little too much to heart and lurked far from the fray, waiting for an opportune moment that was sure to never arrive. Torin blitzed in with assists and downed the Isolationist’s star, stunning him much to the joyous glee of our assassins who suddenly turned their attentions upon him.

Moments later Elrond was sent to the Casualty box, badly hurt and unable to continue. We held out for the whole half, hitting what we could as the Isolationists fled.

1 – 0

Ignoring the final seconds of the game, and the distasteful Isolationist foul upon one of our men, we lined up for the second half against a much reduced Isolationist party.

I screamed “Blitz” as the ball was kicked, commanding my men forward, and they dutifully obeyed! The Isolationists were unprepared and immediately lost control. They cowered away from us, congregating in a pack by the way side, and opted to sneak attack our rear as well as following up their attacks with boots.

Nonetheless, we advanced to score, stopping only to seriously hurt one of them in retaliation.

2 – 0

The Isolationists lined up once more… a pathetic sight indeed. Despite being way outnumbered, when their ball carrier was relieved of the ball, despite the receiver being marked by three men he managed to dump it off successfully… the impudent elves then managed to score out of nowhere!

2 – 1

Angered, we took to the field again, slaying the referee as we did so for whatever part he may have played. In one fell swoop we seriously hurt another of their number and killed one more; whom their apothecary lacked the skills to save… they blamed Torin for not giving them their player’s head back of course.

With a 3 – 1 score line assured, and three men short for their next game, we granted them mercy, not utilising the slaughter of the referee to our advantage, for we are a merciful bunch.

The Freeworld Elves have now learnt the hard way, we are the only ones of our kin capable of procuring a ring, if they had only listened and moved aside, we could have saved them heart ache and bloodshed!

But they never learn.

Regards,
Tarius

P.S – given our close locale to the Woodsmen, we plan to do war with them this eve!

Poor Russo. He works himself up into this, I don’t like playing Sera, I lose players and nothing ever comes off state – that he plays himself into it… I’m sure! :)

In fairness, he had some early opportunities to spoil my drive but either lacked the players to capitalise or the dice at that moment. After that, he never got a look in due to losing players.

When in his foul mode, he still scared me into not fouling and I had DPs and more men!!! He’s far too scaaary and dangerous!

The failed Apo sucked, and after that I stopped fouling, save to kick his Guard lino, who had annoyed me all game. ;)

GG matey!

Sadly, my 51 SPP Dauntless, Might Blow Blitzer aged a Niggle though. :(
