(UP) Rot-chester, NY

So close! So close to a win, you could almost smell it (even over the Nurgles Rotters and the Beast!)

The Syndicate were ONE move away from a win! They had played the perfect ball control offense in the 2nd half after stifling the Trash Can Nurgles in the first half, forcing them to punt in turn 6. In the 2nd half, the Syndicate were forced to punt as well, but difference were the 2 players in position on the upper end line to make a break for it!

In turn 8 of the 2nd half, Nonnac the Loose was in position to grab the ball and GFI into the endzone. It was all set. But Blitz-Ra Samohtynit had to back him, up--Nonnac is not known for his ability to pick up anything but his bones off the turf.

The plan was for Sam to be in the endzone in case Ed couldnt manage to pick up the ball. It would give the Syndicate one more chance at a TD if the ball scattered with a failed pickup, or a failed GFI by Ed. Well, Ed never got the chance since it was SAM who failed the GFI, ending the game in a heartbreaking 0-0 tie for the Syndicate!!!

"Well its better than a loss," said coach TSteamer, "We are on the right track now. We have finally figured out some of the nuances of the Khemri form. I think next game could even be a win for us!"

That is, if the Syndicate can FIND a next game. It seems teams in the Open League dont enjoy playing Khemrian squads, "Too bashy" said one anonymous coach. Well as strange as it may sound, this Khemrian squad isnt out there to pummel teams into the ground. "We actually try and score TDs...we just havent been able to yet," commented a dejected team captain Koohpac the Enlightened. "Look at our CAS ratio," added assistant captain Xirtam the Feared, if we were out there just to bash teams into the turf, we wouldnt have a -4, would we?!"

Its true that 6 casualties in 4 games is nothing to fear. There are dwarves, orcs and even dark elves out there who are causing more casualties than the Syndicate. "We wouldnt mind a little mayhem," concluded TSteamer, "its just not our #1 priority...we want to score and to win."

A Khemri team that plays traditional Bloodbowl? Now I've seen it all.

In other news, Trash Can coach Andaras was a first-rate coach, very friendly and a good sport, especially considering the Death and AG drop caused by the Syndicate Mummies. (sorry again, Andaras!). He made some very impressive defensive moves and is obviously a very good coach. Would play again anytime man! Great match!
